ApproveCart B2B docs
Uninstall and data
Review the operational effect of uninstalling and the distinction between disabling the app and Shopify's privacy-driven data deletion process.
Data used by the workflow
ApproveCart can process and store data needed to operate and support purchase approval, including:
- Shop identity, app sessions, settings, rules, and validation configuration
- Shopify company, company-location, and customer identifiers
- Relevant buyer and approver names and email addresses
- Approval requests, statuses, notes, timestamps, and order references
- Requested line-item data used for review and cart validation
For the legal description and applicable terms, read the current ApproveCart privacy policy. This documentation explains product behavior and does not replace that policy.
Before uninstalling
- Review pending approvals and decide whether buyers should complete or withdraw them.
- Export or record any workflow history your organization must retain outside the app.
- Tell buyers and approvers when the workflow will stop.
- Use the in-app Help page if you need support or have a data-handling question.
What uninstall does
When Shopify notifies ApproveCart that the app was uninstalled, the app clears its Shopify sessions and disables its stored validation configuration. Shopify also stops the app extensions as part of the platform uninstall process.
Customer redaction
When Shopify sends an applicable customer-redaction request, ApproveCart expires that customer's active approval requests and anonymizes relevant customer identifiers in stored records.
Shop redaction
When Shopify sends the shop-redaction compliance request, ApproveCart deletes the shop-scoped application data covered by that process.
After uninstalling
Test the storefront and checkout without the app, remove any operational documentation or theme customization that you added specifically for the workflow, and update internal procurement instructions so buyers do not wait for an approval that can no longer be processed.
Privacy or support requests
Start from the app's Help page before uninstalling when possible. Otherwise, use the support contact available on the Shopify App Store listing and include the shop domain plus the minimum details required to identify the issue.
